Here&#8217;s the count:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>My iMac<\/li>\n<li>My wife&#8217;s MacBook<\/li>\n<li>My daughter&#8217;s MacBook<\/li>\n<li>The kid&#8217;s PC in the basement (for playing PC games)<\/li>\n<li>A Ubuntu-based file server in the basement<\/li>\n<li>A Ubuntu-based security camera DVR server<\/li>\n<li>The cable modem<\/li>\n<li>A Linksys <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/WRT54G\">WRT54G<\/a> Wireless router running <a href=\"http:\/\/openwrt.org\">OpenWRT<\/a> &#8211; my primary router<\/li>\n<li>A Linksys BEFSR41 wired router, which is acting as a switch slaved to the 54G<\/li>\n<li>Another Linksys WRT54G, a <a href=\"http:\/\/jclark.org\/weblog\/2006\/08\/25\/wrt54g-warning\/\">revision 5<\/a> running <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dd-wrt.com\/\">DD-WRT<\/a> (getting OpenWRT working on the low-memory rev 5 is a pain), acting as a wireless bridge to the primary 54G<\/li>\n<li>An XBox 360<\/li>\n<li>A Nintendo Wii<\/li>\n<li>My son&#8217;s PSP<\/li>\n<li>My daughter&#8217;s PSP<\/li>\n<li>The upstairs TiVo<\/li>\n<li>The downstairs TiVo<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>In addition, there are several other devices in the house that could have an IP address if connected:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>My wife&#8217;s old Windows Laptop, no longer in use<\/li>\n<li>A PS2<\/li>\n<li>An XBox<\/li>\n<li>Four cell phones, I think- they have web-browsing capabilities we don&#8217;t use, I assume that when browsing the device obtains an IP address.<\/li>\n<\/ol>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Joe Gregorio asks how many devices in your house have an IP address.
