At the time, I implemented a .html &#8216;flavour&#8217; by hacking .htaccess with some mod_rewrite slyness, converting *.html to *.dev on the way in.  It worked, but links on the displayed page pointing to other pages on this site were messed up for some reason.<\/p>\n<p>This has been bugging me.  As well, <a href=\"http:\/\/mpt.phrasewise.com\/2003\/07\/26#a534\">writings<\/a> on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ashbykuhlman.net\/blog\/2003\/07\/27\/2227\">other<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/diveintomark.org\/archives\/2003\/08\/15\/slugs\">blogs<\/a> and in the <a href=\"http:\/\/groups.yahoo.com\/group\/blosxom\/message\/3859\">Blosxom newsgroup<\/a> regarding <span class=\"caps\">URI <\/span>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.jargon.net\/jargonfile\/c\/cruft.html\">cruft<\/a> have had me rethinking my .dev flavour name.<\/p>\n<p>So, I&#8217;ve made a copy of the .dev flavour named .html, and made it the default.
