This is because Firebird doesn&#8217;t work when used as the default browser under <span class=\"caps\">OS X,<\/span> when displaying an <span class=\"caps\">URL<\/span> launched from another program.  Since I launch <em>many<\/em> urls from places like NetNewsWire, that has meant alot of browsing without Firebird.  Just today, as <span class=\"caps\">I  <\/span>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/jclark.org\/weblog\/Miscellany\/Personal\/catchingup.html\">caught up on over 350 headlines in NetNewsWire<\/a>, I considered whether it was time to abandon Firebird on the Mac.<\/p>\n<p>And then I saw this:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>New!
